Louis Tomlinson has won the 2020 ‘Artist of the Summer’ award in a social media contest held by FM radio station 96.5 TDY.
In an audio clip shared by the radio station, they mention that they had forty-four artists with nine rounds and one winner. Louis Tomlinson won with a whopping 13, 243, 647 votes in round nine on social media alone.
Louis received five times as many points than BTS, fourteen times as many points than Lauren Jauregui, and seventy-six more points than Monsta X in the social media contest.
96.5 TDY shared the audio clip of when the singer was announced as the winner and captioned it: “Hear the moment @Louis_Tomlinson is crowned the WINNER of #ArtistoftheSummer.”

The 28-year-old singer-songwriter also got 28,454 web votes and 143,476 RTs from his fans all over the world.
When asked to describe his fans in three words in an interview with 96.5 TDY, Louis Tomlinson said they are: “Dedicated, loyal and crazy in the best possible way.”

The One Direction boy band went on hiatus in 2016, they have recently been making headlines as their unseen 2015 Carpool Karaoke clip with James Corden made its way to social media, which shows the former band members ordering from McDonald’s.
Since the group parted ways, all the members of the band which included Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne, have been pursuing their own successful solo careers.
