Having signed a deal with BBC, Gordon Ramsay will be making his debut as a prime time game show host for ‘Bank Balance’ with production scheduled to start later this year.
A press release described the new game show as “a high-stakes, high-pressure, game show where contestants need both knowledge and nerves to succeed, where they can literally build themselves a fortune or see it come crashing down in an instant”.
Gordon, whose production company Studio Ramsay came up the show, said about ‘Bank Balance’: “This is going to be truly epic.”
He went on to say: “It is such an intense game with so much jeopardy to win big and lose even bigger, where the difference between failure and success is always in the balance.”
“I’m so happy to be working with the fantastic team at the BBC and cannot wait to get in the studio and start stacking those gold bars!” – He added.
Taking to social media Gordon Ramsay shared a short trailer for the new game show, he captioned his post: “Coming soon to @bbc…my new high-pressure gameshow #BankBalance from @studio_ramsay ! Big question is…do you have what it takes UK ???”
Kate Phillips, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning at the BBC said in a statement about the TV personality: “It’s fantastic to have Gordon on board hosting this new primetime game show.”
“It promises to test nerve, accuracy, and knowledge as well as entertain you.” – Kate added.
Jo Wallace will serve as the show’s executive producer for the BBC. Studio Ramsay will have Fernando De Jesus, Bronson Payne, Sam Smaïl, and Tom Day as producers, with Gordon Ramsay as host as well executive producing with chief creative officer Lisa Edwards.
