Amanda Holden has recently released a music video for ‘With You’ which is a single from her ‘Songs From My Heart’ album that is set to be out on October 2nd, 2020.
The album is made up of songs from musical theatre, as well as a few wistful modern tunes, each carrying personal weight and meaning.
Amanda revealed that the song ‘With You’ is dedicated to her stillborn son. The Britain’s Got Talent judge and her husband Chris Hughes lost their son Theo in 2011, she was seven months into the pregnancy when Theo died in the womb and she had to deliver him by C-section.
Speaking on the Heart Breakfast radio show with Jamie Theakston, Amanda said: “Well, the album is basically all the songs that I have loved in my life, that I have sung to people, that I love in my life, that means the most to me, it’s a massively emotional album and hopefully it is something that everybody can relate to.”
Amanda went on to say: “I’m all about my family. That is the most important thing in my life, my two little girls and my husband. So this album is all for them and the life we have had so far and the single ‘With You’ is actually from one of my favourite musicals.”
“From ‘Ghost’ the musical, it is a beautiful song about loss and grieving and it’s kind of about our, you know it’s well documented, we lost a little boy. He was born sleeping, so it’s very much with our son Theo in mind when I sang this song.” – She added.
Amanda first released her music in May this year, as a charity single to raise funds for the global Covid-19 crisis, with all proceeds being donated to NHS Charities Together. She debuted ‘Over the Rainbow’ which became number one on the iTunes chart. The song will also feature on her upcoming album.
When discussing ‘Over The Rainbow’ and how well it did Amanda said: “That was something that was not supposed to happen, but thanks to all of you it went to number one on iTunes which was unbelievable for an old nanna like me. So thank you so much.”
The mother-of-two was inspired to record an album after she and her daughters Lexi, 14, and Hollie, eight, had recorded a cover of ‘The Greatest Showman’ hit Tightrope as a personal gift for her husband to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.
In other exciting news, Amanda Holden has been made head judge on Britain’s Got Talent after Simon Cowell was forced to miss filming the show due to his broken back.
