The body of a 37-year-old man who was last seen in the late hours of Saturday was found by a brook in St James Park, London.
A member of the public called the police on Monday after discovering the body of the 37-year-old, Yassar Mustakim Moussa. A post-mortem revealed that the man had been stabbed to death.
According to reports, Moussa who lived in Walthamstow had last been heard of on Saturday evening. Currently, no one knows what might have caused the stabbing or the people responsible.
Investigations are underway as the police try to establish the events which led to the killing of the man.
In a statement: Detective chief inspector Larry Smith, who leads the investigation, said: “A man’s life has been brutally taken and his body left in a park. We need to know the movements of Yassar from Saturday, 22 August and my team will be working tirelessly to identify those involved.”
Concerns have been raised of the constant killings which are happening in London. Recently, a similar incident occurred in Brixton. A 20-year-old man was knifed to death during a fight on Thursday. Officers arrested a teenager on suspicion of murder.
However, the police haven`t arrested anyone in connection with Moussa`s stabbing though investigations are underway.
DCI Smith said: “Someone out there knows what happened to Yassar and I’m asking you to do the decent thing and speak up.”
