The ‘V Festival’ has come back to provide some much-needed relief during the Covid-19 pandemic, with performances from Olly Murs and Anne-Marie headlining the virtual event.
They will also be joined by fellow headline act Dizzee Rascal as well as a whole host of other performances. The virtual festival will be broadcast on ITV2 between Friday 21st August and Sunday 23rd August.
Maya Jama and Joel Dommett will be hosting the virtual festival that has finally returned after not having run for three years.
The ‘V Festival’ launched in 1996 and was a very popular music event featuring many big performances, though they ‘pulled the plug’ on the festival in 2017.
This year they are back, creating a virtual experience during the Covid-19 global pandemic to keep those at home entertained. The whole festival was pre-recorded earlier this month in Hylands Park.
The Virgin Media ‘V Festival’ will feature a number of singers, musicians, and acts across three nights. There will also be exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes content with performers and celebrities.
Olly Murs retweeted a post by Virgin Media to get viewers excited about this weekend, the post read: “Tune in to ITV2 from 7pm tonight for @virginmedia #VFestival2020 with your hosts @mayajama and @joeldommett.”
“We’ve got performances from @dizzeerascal, @annemarie and @ollymurs, and absolutely no queues for the toilets!” – He added.

According to MetroUK Olly said: “It’s been incredible to perform live again, but I’m not going to lie, it really was one of the toughest gigs of my career.”
Olly went on to say: “Performing at a virtual festival with a small crowd has its challenges, but the connection you make with audiences on site and at home is unforgettable.”
Maya Jama also took to Twitter to share a post about the event, she wrote: “TONIGHT & all weekend me & @joeldommett will be covering a different kind of V Festival on @itv2. This is my humble presenter pose. Tune innnn x”
