Johnny Depp Faces His Ex-Wife And The Sun In Court

Johnny Depp faces his ex-wife Amber Heard and The Sun at the High Court in London over allegations of domestic violence. Today marks day two of the trial with much more information to be shared about the couples’ troubling relationship.

Depp is suing The Sun publisher, News Group Newspapers (NGN), and their executive editor Dan Wootton over an article which referred to him as a “wife-beater” and suggested to “overwhelming evidence” that he assaulted his ex-wife Amber Heard during their relationship, which Depp has strenuously denied.

Johnny Depp faces his allegations as he spoke about his heavy drinking and drug use, as there were claims he had a pint of wine for breakfast when the libel trial started off at London’s High Court yesterday with both Depp and Heard in attendance.

Depp also alleged Heard had seduced him into advancing her own career, as he accused her of violence and once defecating in his bed as a ‘prank’. The actor said that Heard or ‘possibly one of her friends’ was responsible for the offensive incident, but after first blaming the dogs Heard dismissed it as ‘just a harmless prank’.

Depp accused Heard of being a ‘narcissistic sociopath’ as his defense mentioned a list of incidents in which she had allegedly attacked him. One incident being that Heard severed his finger by throwing a vodka bottle at him during an incident in Australia in 2015.

In a witness statement submitted to the court Johnny Depp says: “I do not believe that I have an overbearing, manipulative, or controlling personality…I truly believe that most of the descriptions that Amber provides are in fact reflections of her own behaviour.”

The list of allegations goes on and on, but it’s plain to see that this was not a happy marriage and that both Depp and Heard may have done some things that they have come to regret, but the blame is not solely put on Depp.
