Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have lost a potential website for their recently announced Archewell foundation to an unknown cybersquatter who quickly paid for the site and link it to a Kanye West hit song on YouTube to pass a funny message.
The former senior royals had announced on Tuesday that they were working on a new nonprofit organization called Archewell Foundation, but, they didn’t consider reserving a potential website URL for the foundation as yet, mostly as they were halted almost in the middle on the announcement by social media users who believed they were being too forward with the plan in the midst of a global pandemic.
Yeah, as always, a cybersquatter quickly paid and reserved “archewellfoundation.com”, although nothing has been designed on the space, it’s currently linked to a Kanye West “Gold Digger” song on YouTube.
The internet troll’s intent seems very much clear hear; lashing on Meghan’s decision to marry Harry, or saying it’s pretty much on Meghan. It’s could also be to make money as he may later put it up for sale, but for so much cash than the couple may be willing to pay for a URL registration.
Nothing much has spoiled, mostly with Harry and Meghan intent to make their foundation a one-stop-shop educational and support website for a variety of charitable groups.
Meghan and Harry still have other URL options like “archewellfoundation.org, archewellfoundation.net”. But this will serve as a huge lesson for the couple as they move out of the royal coverage to fend for themselves on the street.
No hard feelings, but Meghan and Harry will have to buckle up and step up their media game, especially now that they’re heading to Hollywood as many people look forward to.
Lesson number one, the street is different from the palace, Harry!!
