The Clap for our Carers campaign are trying to get as many people as they possibly can to clap from their balcony windows, gardens, living rooms, etc in order to show the doctors, nurses and carers our appreciation for their ongoing hard work and fight against the COVID-19 virus.
Caroline Lucas the Green MP for Brighton Pavilion have urged the public to show their love and appreciation to the NHS employees tonight at 8pm by clapping
She said: “During this these unprecedented times they need to that we are grateful.”

The health secretary Matt Hancock said that no over 560,000 people have requested to be volunteers with the NHS volunteer responders scheme. Yesterday afternoon the figure was still 405,000.

Early-morning Tube users was down by 13% today, compared to yesterday and bus usage was down by 8%.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson sets a new target of 750,000 volunteers for the NHS volunteer responders scheme. On Tuesday when the volunteer scheme was announced by the health secretary Matt Hancock, the target was 25,000
In other news the North Yorkshire Police warned the public that there will be checkpoints to ask motorists where they are going and if their outing is essential during the lockdown. They will also remind those on the road to stay at home.
Banks got a warning from the government to not profit from the COVID-19 crisis.
